The Dorwontony Organisation is a charitable entity, operating for the benefit of the Aged in Sierra Leone.

DoFA, as it is fondly known, work to make the lives of senior citizens and elderly people better in health and wealth.

DoFA offer multiple interventions for senior citizens, such as; medical screenings and general health support; food support, as well as supporting Old Peoples Homes and helping the elderly get suitable housing.

DoFA also put on regular events, symposiums for advocating for the pensioners, and classic events such as the Ms Old Is Gold beauty pageant for the over 60s, and the Senior Citizens Football Gala.

DoFA is the leading charitable organisation working towards the welfare of senior citizens and the elderly in Sierra Leone.

As the CEO of DoFA, it is my privilege to lead a team of workers and volunteers, who diligently help us deliver on our official mandate.

Our office and AGED CENTER is located at 5 Albert Street in Freetown, off Circular Road and Mends Street.

Sierra Leone must give ageing a home in the State, says the Chief Minister Dr Sengeh.

DoFA has been doing this work for the last 6 years and counting, so we were excited to hear such a pronouncement from a high-ranking government official.

Many institutions do not see the relevance of the elderly to their operations, so we take this opportunity to thank you, Dr Chief Minister.

DoFA is hosting its annual AGED SYMPOSIUM on Thursday, 20th April 2023 at the 50/50 HALL in Tower Hill, close to the Houses of Parliament building.

The theme for 2023 is: AGING & ELECTORAL VIOLENCE ... the role of the Aged towards peaceful elections.

Key panelists include; Honourable Dr. Bernadette Lahai and Ambassador Soulay Daramy, the CEO of The Ahmad Tejan-Kabbah Foundation in Sierra Leone.

The Moderator of the AGED Symposium is Antonia Howard, a popular media personality, and the event starts at 9am.

Ms Old is Gold Volume III is happening on Saturday, 14th October 2023 at the Freetown City Council Auditorium. Event starts at 430PM.

The beauty pageant for senior citizens, Ms Old Is Gold is turning 6. Participants of at least 60 years and older take part in the showcase, which the organisers are reluctant to call a competition, as everyone is a winner.

For the 6th edition, tickets can be bought from DoFA management, and they can also direct you to their agents across Sierra Leone. Ms Old Is Gold is empowering for the senior citizens, as it gives some the chance to live out some of their childhood dreams that remained unfulfilled.

The pageant is on Saturday, 10th October 2026 and is hosted in partnership with the Freetown City Council at the FCC Auditorium in Freetown. Mayor Aki-Sawyerr is a key supporter of the event and DoFA thank her for her contribution to a successful event.
